poppy_seeds_bread

Hi..i just saw a minutes ago, mythbusters on discovery channel discover a new things that poppy seed products will effect on your drug test for about 36-72 hours. By just eating a kg poppy seed cake for adam and poppy seed bread for jamie, they confirmed positive on drug test by just an hour eat them. Is it too fast??

Yes it is too fast. Imagine that you take this bread for your breakfast before interview and  your new employer discover that you’re positive drug test that morning, do you think he will accept you? I think NO. They don’t want any of his employee are drug addict..But, his/they really don’t know that you’re not drug addict and its just effect on taking poppy seed breads. But for sure, you won’t get the job..

Testing labs have extensive procedures to re-confirm a positive test before reporting it. Most drug testing programs also utilize the services of an independent physician called a Medical Review Officer (MRO) to review all test results. In the case of a positive result, the MRO will normally contact the subject to determine if there is a medical explanation for the positive results. For example, eating poppy seeds before a test can result in a false positive for opiates. However, an MRO also knows that poppy seeds cannot cause certain levels of opiates, and certain additional testing can eliminate that.

There can also be tests that are “negative’ but show an abnormal result, such as a “low creatine level,” which can indicate an applicant attempted to dilute the sample by the excessive drinking of water or some other form of alteration. That is also a result that a MRO would examine.

Employers who conduct employer drug testing will find that a drug testing program will eliminate people with a drug abuse problem. Drug tests generally cost in the $50-$70.00 range, including collection of the sample, laboratory analysis, services of a Medial Review Officer, and communications of the results in the manner most convenient to the employer. Compared to the cost of even one employee with a substance abuse problem, most firms find eliminating the problem in the first place is well worth the time and money involved in an employer drug testing program.

So please think twice before take any poppy seed product before going out..

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form found in the US. Ninety to ninety-five percent of people diagnosed with diabetes have this type. Usually developed later in life, it is most commonly diagnosed in people over the age of fifty-five, but in many cases as young as forty or even younger.

This is because eighty percent of people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes are overweight. With obesity at an all time high, the diagnoses for type 2 diabetes is also at an all time high. In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas is still producing insulin, but for some unknown reason, the body is not able to utilize it effectively. As a result, just as in type 1 diabetes, type 2 people develop a dangerous buildup of glucose in the blood and the body is not able to utilize it for fuel.

People who have type 2 diabetes may see their symptoms develop over time. They are not usually as noticeable as the type 1 symptoms. Symptoms include fatigue, frequent urination, especially throughout the night hours, unusual thirst, weight loss, frequent infections and slow healing sores.

In fact, sores may never heal and if not treated it is common for people to have limbs amputated. This usually occurs in the legs, feet and toes. Also as with type 1, if the symptoms go untreated and insulin is not administered when necessary, the patient runs the risk of slipping into a diabetic coma, which can be fatal. It is important if you have any symptoms of type 1 or 2 diabetes you speak with a health professional and get tested.

Type 1 diabetes accounts for five to ten percent of diabetes cases in the United States. A person who is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes must receive insulin shots daily in order to live. Scientists are not exactly sure why the body attacks the immune system and the production of insulin, but it is believed that both genetics and viruses are involved.

Type 1 diabetes is most commonly found in children and young adults, but can appear at any age and symptoms can develop over a short period of time. Symptoms include increased thirst and urination, extreme fatigue, weight loss and constant hunger. If a person with type 1 diabetes is not diagnosed and treated with insulin, there is a risk of that person slipping into a diabetic coma that may prove life
threatening.

The key when first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes is to arm yourself with information. Being diagnosed is not the end of the world. In fact, most people go on to live normal, healthy lives as long as they stay aware of their condition and continue to treat it.

After being diagnosed with diabetes, it is important to maintain your general health paying special attention to the care you give your eyes, feet and skin as well as your heart and oral health. This basic care could prevent complications brought on by diabetes later in life. Other recommendations are to stop smoking and reduce the amount of alcohol you consume.

diabetes-disease

Diabetes is a growing problem in most of developed country. With our population at an all time high in weight gain and a low in health care, the problem is only growing. Diabetes is a disease of the metabolism. Our metabolism is what the way our bodies use digested food for energy and growth.

Most food that is processed through our bodies is broken down by digestive juices into a sugar called glucose. Glucose is the fuel our bodies run on. When we eat, and our food is processed, the pancreas is supposed to produce the right amount of glucose from our blood automatically and release the right amount of insulin into our blood.

In people with diabetes, little to no insulin is produced or the body’s cells don’t respond correctly to the insulin that is produced. Therefore the glucose builds up and overflows into the urine and passes out of the body. This is how the body loses its main source of fuel even though the bloodstream contains good amounts of the natural glucose.

There are three types of diabetes, type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. People who have type 1 are known as insulin-dependent. This is an autoimmune disease where the body’s natural system is fighting against another part of the body. In the case of type 1 diabetes, the system attacks the insulin producing cells and destroys them.

Therefore the pancreas can produce little to no insulin. These people are in need of daily injections of insulin to live. Five to ten percent of diabetes cases are type 1 in the US.

Ashtanga Yoga is a method of yoga that is taught in India by Sri K Pattabhi Jois. This style of yoga involves the synchronization of breathing with a progressive series of postures. This is a process that produces a kind of intense internal heat as well as a drenching, purifying sweat that is supposed to detoxify the muscles and organs of the body. The result is a light and strong body, improved circulation and a calm mind.

Ashtanga Yoga Background

Ashtanga Yoga is a method of yoga that was recorded by Vamana Rishi in an ancient manuscript call the Yoga Korunta. This article was said to contain lists of a variety of groupings of asanas and highly original teachings on the subjects of vinyasa, bandhas, drishti, mudras and philosophy.

The text of this article was handed down to Sri T. Krishnamacharya by his teacher Rama Mohan Brahmachari in the early 1900’s. It later came into the possession of Pattabhi Jois when he studied with Krishnamacharya beginning in 1927. Jois has been teaching this type of yoga since 1948 from his yoga shala.

The literal meaning of Ashtanga Yoga is “eight-limbed” yoga as put forth by sage Patanjali. According to him, the path of internal cleansing in order to reveal the universal self is based on the following eight spiritual practices:

  • Yama which are moral codes
  • Niyama which is based on study and self-purification
  • Asana or posture
  • Pranayama which is controlled breathing
  • Pratyahara which is sense control
  • Dharana which is concentration
  • Dhyana which is meditation and
  • Samadhi which is contemplation

mesothelioma

Prior to the discussion on Mesothelioma treatment options, one has to understand what it is all about. Mesothelioma is a kind of cancer that occurs due to excessive exposure to asbestos. Any kind of cancer is not curable once it reaches the final stages; so is Mesothelioma.

Pleural Mesothelioma has three stages whereas Peritoneal Mesothelioma has no stages. If a patient suffering from the former kind of cancer and is in stage I or stage II, the treatment options include traditional and conventional treatments.

Under traditional treatment, the patient is subjected to surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Aggressive treatment cannot be given to patients for whom age plays a vital role in the weakening of immune system. There are other diseases that also contribute to the weak immune system. For such people, there are alternate treatments. However, not all the treatment methods have received approval.

Tri-modality therapy is a combination of surgery, radiation as well as chemotherapy. The other Mesothelioma treatment options include Immunotherapy, Gamma therapy, Photodynamic therapy. IMRT or “Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy” is another treatment where radiation of predetermined dosage is delivered to the affected regions.
Research is still going on to find the best method to combat cancer that has never had a cure as of date.

Heavy menstrual bleeding is seen in many women and it is at the peak in England. A recent study conducted by the ORCA, a collaboration between the London School of Hygiene and Royal College of Obstetricians indicated that the surgery can be 4 times more affective in women who belong to a few regions compared to those who belong to other regions of the same country, England.

Around 51,456 women who were suffering from heavy bleeding were investigated. Hysterectomy was found in 4 out of 10 women on an average. Surprisingly, this varied with region and the range is in between 25 and 54 percent.

GPs are being seen is one out of every 20 women in England due to this heavy bleeding. There are a variety of effective treatments and the study reveals that it is important to provide evident information before going for irreversible treatments like hysterectomy.

The vice president of RCOG says that there is a treatment that is more conservative but this research highlighted the role that is important in the surgery. Both the risks as well as benefits associated with the surgery must be explained in details to the women who are suffering from bleeding before actually going for the treatment.
